The Institute for Tourism and Development has suspended the TOURA D’OR award and will not continue to conduct this contest until further notice.

The contest no longer did justice to the changed media landscape with its new content formats and technical channels of communication. The difference between journalistic genres and other reproductions of content in text, pictures and sound are no longer clear-cut. The TOURA D’OR had always relied on selectivity, last but not least to avoid commercial and editorial content being mixed.

The Institute for Tourism and Development will reassess these developments and might develop a new multimedia contest on socially responsible travel and tourism. The time frame has not yet been fixed.
